OB TITLE: Maintenance Worker Posting Number: 2026-010 PROGRAM: Maintenance TYPICAL HOURS OF WORK: 80 hours Biweekly Monday to Friday (Days, evenings) and weekend flexibility required PAY RATE: $23.99 -26.21 per hour DESCRIPTION OF CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform preventative maintenance on homes and buildings including but not limitedto:skilled carpentry, painting, plastering, dry walling, door hardware, and general household maintenance.
- Inspect building facilities toidentifybuilding maintenance needs inside and out, report any maintenance issues to Maintenance Lead and Associate Director of Operations and perform corrective maintenance as required.
- Move and relocate furniture,appliancesand office equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Uphold confidentiality of all individuals.
FORMAL EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Must have a minimum of Grade 12 education with some education and/or training in building trades.
- Must have a valid G driver’s license and able to drive with a trailer in tow.
- Must be able to provide an acceptable vulnerable sector check.
- Knowledge of methods, practices and equipment used in facilities management and activities including a variety of building trades work is preferred.
- Must have thorough working knowledge and experience with tools and equipment used in building maintenance, reconstruction, and repair work.
- Must have good working knowledge of safe work practices, occupationalhazardsand necessary precautions applicable to building and mechanical maintenance work.
- Ability toidentifymaintenance needs, prioritize work and take corrective actions.
. Ability to work within a team environment. - Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence ofTeam Lead and/or Associate Director.
- Lift up to 50 pounds above the waist and carry heavy objects.
- Use a personal computer,tabletand appropriate computer software.
- Operatewith a high level of personal organization
- Establishand maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Meet daily with maintenance team for assigned work and follow up
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to wear a surgical mask all day.
- Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working at heights.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Valid driver’s license, Safe handling and training of power tools. BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: Problem solving, Initiative, Interpersonal Relations & Respect.
