OUR STORY

The Community Living Cambridge of today sprang from humble beginnings in 1954 led by a group of concerned parents in the Galt, Hespeler, and Preston area (now Cambridge). Since then, the agency has grown from a small school and a handful of children to a thriving agency providing a wide range of individualized services to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities.

Community Living Cambridge has been operating in the community for more than 65 years.

Today, Community Living Cambridge employs more than 300 staff and supports hundreds of adults with developmental disabilities in 24 group homes, apartments, and in the community with supported living, work, volunteering, recreational, and adult development programs. Throughout the agency's history, Community Living Cambridge has aspired to the mission of creating opportunities to support people with disabilities to realize their citizenship and aspirations.

In addition to providing supported living and community participation supports, Community Living Cambridge advocates for the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities. The agency also works with a wide range of government, community benefit, and other organizations to help people with disabilities achieve their goals.
