This role is being advertised to fill an Existing Position

Positing Number: 2026-017

TYPICAL HOURS OF WORK:   40 hrs weekly.  80 Bi-Weekly Rotating shifts with flexibility required.  

 Days, evenings, and weekend rotating shift. Required to work Statutory Holidays.

DESCRIPTION OF CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and deliver programs to meet the ongoing needs of CPS and its participants with a focus on individual needs and preferences based on direction and participant feedback
  • Write regular reviews/reports concerning assigned caseloads, as well as maintain documentation
  • Work with other facilitators and Program Manager in team setting for assigned programming
  • Carry out duties as assigned

 

FORMAL EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Recreation Therapy Degree or Diploma, DSW or completed post-secondary education in a field related to social or human services.
  • Experience developing programming for people with developmental disabilities in a group setting
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills. The ability to work independently and with an established team setting
  • Possess strong documentation skills
  • Have proven programming experience to support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social and leisure needs of our participants
  • Above average leadership, communication, assessment and organizational skills and the ability to be self-directed
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and rights of person with developmental disabilities
  • Previous experience working with people who have disabilities and behavioural issues will be an asset
  • Must have a good general work record with CLC
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. The duties of the position requires being on your feet most of the day and may require some manual labour tasks.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:   Valid driver’s license and use of own car may be required.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:  Advocacy, Collaboration, Creative Problem Solving, Developing Others, Fostering Independence, Initiative, Interpersonal Relations, Computer/Technology literacy
